In an exciting announcement, Rangers Football Club has revealed a series of significant stadium improvements and seating changes for the upcoming 2024/2025 season at the iconic Ibrox Stadium. These developments aim to enhance accessibility, atmosphere, and overall fan experience, solidifying Ibrox’s reputation as one of football’s most iconic venues.

Increased Accessibility

The Rangers have taken a bold step forward in inclusivity by introducing new accessible viewing positions. Located at the rear of the Copland Front, these additions will increase the number of wheelchair-accessible spaces to an impressive 153, making Ibrox Stadium the leader in providing accessibility among Scottish Premiership venues.

Relocation of the Singing Section

As part of the improvements, the Rangers are relocating and expanding the singing section from the Broomloan Road corner to the Copland Front. This strategic move not only aims to boost the stadium’s atmosphere but also involves the relocation of the passionate Union Bears within Ibrox to the new singing section.

In response to the changes, the Union Bears released a statement expressing their gratitude, saying, “We would like to take this opportunity to not only thank the club for working with us on this matter but also our membership and the wider fan base.”

Cantilever Expansion to the Copland Rear

One of the most exciting announcements is the development of a new cantilever expansion to the Copland Rear. This expansion will see the addition of almost 1000 new seats, contributing to the overall growth and modernization of Ibrox Stadium. Rangers have prioritised fans affected by other seating arrangement changes, ensuring they have the opportunity to secure seats in this new section.

Club Statement

In a statement, Rangers emphasised their commitment to preserving the renowned Ibrox atmosphere and making continuous efforts to enhance it further. The club stated, “The Ibrox atmosphere is renowned the world over, and the club is committed to enhancing that even further to ensure our famous home remains one of football’s most iconic venues.”

With these exciting developments, Rangers Football Club is not only investing in the physical infrastructure of Ibrox Stadium but is also affirming its dedication to the fans. The increased accessibility, relocation of the singing section, and the cantilever expansion to the Copland Rear are all steps toward creating a more inclusive, vibrant, and unforgettable experience for Rangers supporters. As the 2024/2025 season approaches, anticipation builds for the unveiling of these enhancements, promising a thrilling season both on and off the pitch at Ibrox.
