With the dust barely settled on the 2024/25 season, Rangers have begun sketching out the roadmap for the campaign ahead – and for fans, it’s a mix of exciting news and ongoing uncertainty.
Rangers Teams Summer Starts Early
The club confirmed that players will report back for pre-season on June 23, kicking off preparations at the renowned St George’s Park in England. The facility – the pride of the English FA – boasts 14 outdoor pitches, elite indoor training areas, cutting-edge recovery suites, and even a Hilton hotel with over 200 rooms. It’s a clear sign that Rangers are looking to ensure the squad are given the best possible environment to hit the ground running.
Home Friendlies Return to Ibrox

In welcome news, two home pre-season friendlies at Ibrox have been scheduled – something we missed last year due to ongoing work in the Copland Stand. Fans can now pencil in:
- Saturday, July 6 – Club Brugge (2pm KO)
- Saturday, July 26 – Middlesbrough (2pm KO)
Club Brugge tickets are priced at £18 for adults, £10 for concessions and just £5 for kids. Middlesbrough tickets are £20 for adults, £12 for concessions and £8 for kids.
Rangers Champions League Timetable Confirmed
Rangers will enter the UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round (league path). The draw will be held on June 18, with ties to be played on July 22/23 (first leg) and July 29/30 (second leg). Potential opponents? One of Panathinaikos, Servette or SK Brann – tricky but beatable.
Meanwhile, fans can also circle June 20 in their diaries – that’s when the Scottish Premiership fixtures drop, ahead of the league’s return on the weekend of August 2.
Rangers Fans Are Still Waiting…
Of course, the biggest pre-season headline is still missing: Who will be the next manager of Rangers? With players returning in less than a month, time is ticking. Add in the fact that a club takeover is also expected to complete, and there’s still a huge summer ahead off the pitch as well as on it.
And then there’s recruitment. With several players already departed and more likely to follow, there’s a sense that around 15 bits of transfer business – ins and outs – still need to happen. A couple more friendlies before those vital Champions League qualifiers wouldn’t go amiss either.
What Comes Next?
There’s no doubt that progress is being made – but fans are still in wait-and-see mode. Pre-season facilities are locked in, Ibrox will host friendlies again, and the Champions League path is mapped out. But without a manager, new signings, or clarity on the takeover, the mood remains cautiously optimistic.
The building blocks are there. Now it’s time for Rangers to put the full puzzle together.
